Gday ED
Looking good! One quick tip - what are you using to knock the welds back? If you havent already got one - get a metal bodywork file. ( looks like a bog file but the teeth are closer together) These are terrific for knocking individual mig or oxy welds down quickly and without heating the panel up - thus avoiding more distortion. My method used to be weld a few spots then file. This kept the panel in control better I found.
My body file would be the most used tool in my shed- I use it even for general welding jobs as its actually quicker for shaving and shaping in many cases. (Electricity is a bit of a premium for me here and a pain in the arse as I have to run a lead from the house still.)
Just my two cents- love what you've done so far!
Cheers streetneat-Andrew.

hey guys,
thanks for all the comments so far.. pics coming, roof is almost back together and ground smooth, spent hours slapping it back into shape.
Andrew, I just use an ordinary flat file, then smooth it down using a Garryson sanding disc... nothing flash.
I'm getting a couple of tools this month, so will put one on the list. In your old holden gallery, you demonstrate the use of shrinker/stretcher... I've seen them on ebay and want to get one to re-make rusted weather strip channels etc... are the ebay ones any good?
Cheers
Ed

A few more hours, getting closer...
The wagon is ready to have it's braces removed, which is good so I can finish up the pillars and rust repairs next and get those doors happening too.

.. just using your 20 min rule Harko, but I expanded it to 2 hours.
things will slow down a little now as I need to fix some fiddly rust before progressing.
I don't think this is the first wagon to be done, but maybe one of a couple.
Cheers
Ed
