59 wagon, i believe my van was born a ute the same as yours, i've seen half a dozen vans but they are a different body to mine the roof pokes out over the doors they don't flow into the roof like your ute and my van, also the other vans are aluminium bodies mine is steel mine has a B.S.STILLWELL badge on the dash and when picking a rivet counters brains he said B.S. used to have coach builders make vans for them starting with utes so it's a really rare car lol

Re: bought a windowless van today
Dumb question for today - what is a burst-proof lock? I've seen the expression used a lot in hotrods, but never understood what it really meant.

Re: bought a windowless van today
Hi Harv,
The difference is the ordinary old type on older cars (coach built bodies) were like a house door with a spring loaded striker plate, burst proof actually have a mechanism that surround either a pin or a specifically shaped striker plate.
I am assuming that when there is a accident or there is body twist the ordinary latches could open just by the movement.

So many cars so little time!
Re: bought a windowless van today
Many thanks - the "surround" part makes sense when I think about modern pin locks.

Re: bought a windowless van today
yeah engineers dumb explanation if the door collapses in the middle like if something hits it it can't come open if something hits it in the door what ever hit it is going to stop the door coming open
anyway they aren't expensive to buy and don't look to complicated to fit hopefully i won't need them, hardest thing to find so far are original parts bonnet catch assembly and sun visors
