Travel advice (as of 7:15 pm):
If you keep to the upper North Shore and the outer suburbs, you'll be clear of the red zones. Don't cross the Harbour Bridge, don't use the Tunnel, don't cross Gladesville Bridge. I wouldn't recommend crossing the Ryde Bridge. Stay west of Parramatta if you're heading south. The M7 is OK. Use the M2 only if heading west.
It would be a good idea, when you get to the Hunter River, to see what restrictions are in place for greater Sydney. You might be going home via Dubbo.

Thanks Rob. I lodged an SA travel application. 14 days self quarantine anywhere in NSW. Can live with that. Tests days 1, 5, 12 from memory. Still intending to see my sister's family at Castlecrag and pick up the van roof from Cessnock. And visit the Canberra cohort, if ethical. At least I can trznsit through western Vic now, but not stop excepting emergency.

Hello Clay
What was the issue with the battery? Did it just die overnight or was there a problem on the charging side of things that stopped?
Is the gearbox better after topping up with Golden Syrup?
Keep the travel adventure updates coming

Getting to know the people at the motel. They sent me to Hoeys pub up the road from bolo. Noughty’s bingo and young crowd It got better when I lined up for $12 rump and met Clayton! and Kurt, working away from Newcastle way. Clayton had a few HRs and knew about crash boxes and hot rods too. Lead singer in a rockabilly outfit, and a grandpa.

Tried to plays the bingo for free beer. Not my idea. Good chat.

I think this is the ultimate fulfilment of my ute dreaming. Finally sleeping in the back. Southern cross and pointers are out.

I've done this a few times now! Once in torrential rain and I stayed bone dry under the tarp (I was in a swag also)
It's the best way to travel

Cheers j and DR. Box out, box in. Speak not of starter motors to Mick or me.
New box is sweet. Except the clutch is bit sticky prolly due to the brisk nature of spline preparation and or tight spigot bush It's been sitting in the back of a Ute 30 years so spline bit manky. Slave popped so had to bleed it grr.
Mick only snapped one engine mount bolt off, though he did most of the work. Test drive around the block few times to free up clutch, brief chat and look at the van and the coupe.
Back to the motel. Part of the family now. Dee and Frank fed me curry and tiramisu.

Lunch at Crescent heads.
Want to catch Rob, Harv and Joe in Sydney but not sure about restrictions. As it is I have to self isolate 14 days on return to SA for being anywhere in NSW.

Disconnected the battery overnight and all good on th r morning. There must be a leak somewhere. Was a tiny spark when I connected up this morning.
