Thanks for the insight there Brett. I have the same column, but I am going to mount mine to the original style steering box so hopefully there is enough room there to avoid chopping it. But if I need to, now I now how to pull it all apart.
Hi Scott. Let me know if you are after a reco'd box ready to go. I have the one that was on the ute that joined up to the Torrie column.

Thanks for the offer Brett, but I have already cobble together one that should do the job.

Just need to cut the original shaft and profile a DD into it to accept a 17mmDD to 3/4DD Uni or rag joint. Haven't pulled the trigger on that purchase until I get an engineer involved.

Having a shed tidy up. To come are a few holden electronic distributors and a few WW2 Strombergs and manifolds. Also a box of brake and clutch cylinders and bits.
Basically getting rid of everything that doesn't belong on the ute.

Making some carb changes. While the hole is there, a pic of the extractors for those contemplating.

Very handy for me! Have the same extractors along with the triple SU's to massage into that space. Good reference for the firewall massaging required.
Thanks Brett

Scott, the photo may be misleading. I don't think any firewall changes are needed to fit those extractors. The SU's on the other hand might need something done.

Depending on manifold and filters used.

I had to put a fairly sizeable recess in the rattler firewall for the blower installation - pics would be in the build thread. It's on page 7 of the thread if its any help.

I think I have screenshot of your mods on file Blacky - but I'll take another look. Brett, it's mainly space for the SU's I'm interested in (my set up had 2 front mounted fuel bowls and the rear one is facing the firewall) but with the work I have to do, might as well keep a bit of extra clearance for the headers

Mucking about with Webers today. My firewall indent is not going to accept a Weber with an aircleaner. This is a pain in the butt to change, but I'll have to do it.

Getting serious now Brett. Those webers will make it stand up on its hind legs!

Looks a bit agricultural, but it works. Rough mock-up of things.
