Thanks peoples.

I think this will be a good spot for the booster.......

At the moment it's only held on with 1 bolt.
Hopefully I'll have it finished this weekend with some sort of shield against road crud.

Coated the floor in fish oil 2 weeks ago and is still a bit tacky in spots
Takes ages to dry out :!:

Nice work EKSPCL, just a tip in case you hadn't of thought of already, cover the bleeder screw with a cap and place a shield over the atmospheric vent cap to prevent road grime covering your booster.

Didn't think of the cap over the bleeder
I am going to put a shield over the breather.
Thanks Oldnek

Very neat, Wayne......

someone's thinking.. there's clever in this..

My only suggestion is to leave a bit more room between the guard and the tank - good place for crud to pack up.

Guess its down to what the shield is .. I'd be lookin at where the front wheel is gunna throw stuff from - and to protect the hoses/pipes - guess that can be done if your shield goes all the way across to the skirt..
Newer cars have a inner guard.. I'd be lookin at a short version of one of those..
If you look at what you got already.. there's the brace which holds the guard to the body - that'd be a good place to bolt the bottom of a sheld to..
but if yo uwant people to see what you done and leave it open a bit.. youl have to wear gettin it hit by stuff from the wheel..

I'd make it so that you can get if off with just a few bolts - might be good time to look in there when you grease..

your goin well with this - take as much time as you need..
a bit of thought and clever now will save a lot of grief later..

Had the same thought Dee, about the later model "inner guard"

That brace that holds the guard on and the lip that follows the firewall seam is looking attractive as a fixing point.
But I do have to take into consideration if this will foul when the car is lowered.
I don't think so, but when I get out there today I'll find out.

Thanks for you input

Got the brake booster installed today.
I'll worry about the splash guard once I fix the guard on I think.

Gave the front door an extend by about 8mm to cover up where I took out the divider.
Had a practice run on the crappy door.

Added a 20 x 3mm strip.....

Squared off the bottom corner.....

I think I got too much heat in the door skin.
It bulged out a bit, so I have a curve to the edge of the door.
I think the problem might be that I'm welding a 3mm strip to 3 layers of 1mm panel.
So I need to get more heat into the strip than the panel.
Any tips :?: :?: :?:

It's going to be a challenge to get these door gaps even.
They weren't exeactly made to precision
I'm glad I had a trial run on this one :!:
