yeah it would be great to start on it now but i have too many other projects and not enough dough to do the lot so I guess the best that I can do is at least get it out of the weather.
I was speaking to a mate who says the Vauxhall utes were all 55 bodies with later stuff added on so it looks as if it is a 56/57 Velox.
I know absolutely nothing about Vauxhalls I actually thought it was an FJ ute when I spotted it. This mate of mine is a Vauxhall nut so I got some info off him. Did you know there is no window winder on the door as the windows are some sort of balance cable and you push them up and down, also the brake master cylinder is under the drivers floor, just right for filling up with water and crud. Apparently the ignition switch is just an on/off switch and there is a start cable on the dash that literally pulls two contacts together for starting. Strange bloody pommie vehicles!!
Anyway need to wait for Mum and Dad to clear some space before I can move it.

Went to a car show on the weekend as it turns out it was the All british day here in Adelaide. Over 700 cars and lots to see and do but one car really caught my eye
Referring back to the pics it seems like it would be a different model to Nige's as the taillights look slightly different.
Cool cars, similar yet different.

You won't be late with a 138!
A later model maybe? It doesn't look like the flashing indicators on the other one were fitted at the factory..........FB wannabe wrote:Went to a car show on the weekend as it turns out it was the All british day here in Adelaide. Just noticed that the link to the photo was broken when I rearranged the albums in my Photobucket account. I can't find an edit button, so here it is again:franfran wrote:I was just looking at a few random posts and noticed this thread. My partner and I went to the "All British" show at Parramatta earlier this year and there was a Vauxhall ute there. Here's a photo of it:
Re: Vauxhall Ute
My father had one in the sedan.
Vauxhaul Velox from memory.
Didn't go very fast but certainly different. Had a red interior.
Along with my Grandfathers Black Chev with the bullet headlights, it's another car that I wish was still in the family.

IT's LIKE WATCHING DRUNK MONKEYS TRYING TO HUMP A FOOTBALL.

Wow Remember when car designers had flair, and remember chrome. I spent hours earning extra pocket money polishing the old mans Customline, man that thing had enough metal in the chrome grill and front bumper to make at least two Hyundais
