well i will be using the car as a daily driver to school and back. The reason why i want 250hp is beacuse that was my goal since i got the engine. I don't want to thrash the engine as i want my stuff to last longer then those other people whi thrash there engines.

A 250 hp engine will be a dog of a thing to drive around town as from memory you are starting to get around the XU1 Torana output figures. If you know anyone who has an engine done to XU1 specs ( especially the late LJ XU1 specs which from memory have a 45/85 cam or thereabouts ) you will most likely hear from them that they are a pig of a thing to cruise in....they were made for racing ie..flat out.
Get used to riding the clutch a lot and stalling the engine constantly, breaking and replacing gearbox's and diffs and assoiated parts.Your $22000 will be eaten up very quickly.
You won't be happy with it after a while using it for what you want it for.You don't get a choice, you have it standard, mild or wild and you just can't flick a switch and get a choice of all three when you want.
Bigger isn't always better.

I can't think what to write here so this will do.
Well i think i will stick to mild. I want enough power to give it a bit here and there. But still keep it driveable. I think that i will install that 320cfm 'EconoMaster' and theo 's yella terra head if doesn't need much work. So i will stick to this
Yella terra head
readline manifold
320cfm carby
extractors wtih 2 1/4" piping
new coil pack
Better plugs and leads and maybe a electric dizzy only if i need it
That is all i am doing.

Heres a crazy idea - sit down, figure out what the hell it is you want out of this project - realistically - make a plan and then stick to it.
Last week a drift car , this week a cruiser with a grumpy pig of a "cruising " engine , what will it be next week - gunna slide a diff under the front and drive the bloody thing to Cape York ??????????

I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

I can see him learning from all the way down here! Its brilliant! Its good to see you actualy listening to the advice you are being given. But like Blacky said, stop and have a real good think on what you want from the car now before you spend any more money.
Best tip I can give you is before you get too far into the rebuild is to have a VERY clear idea of what your end goal is, ie how it is going to look, what driveline, wheels/tyres, style of build etc... Get the drift. Know exactly what it is you are going to do BEFORE you buy too much. It will keep your costs down and your budget on track. Plus you won't have a heap of new bits that never got used because you changed your mind.

Speed and Style........... One day I'll get the speed bit.
