Yeah, its a stock grey.
I'll get the 185/70 x 13's and see how it goes with the standard 3.89 diff

I think I'll fork out the extra bucks and get the 185/80's then.
Right now with the 165/75's it has, it screams at 50mph.....at 60mph it's howling

I wished
Tim, you have no issue fitting a 185 wide tyre to a standard rim??
Mine look like theyve had a few run ins with gutters as well

Well, I've booked the car in tomorrow for some new Khumo whitewalls..
I still haven't decided yet though on the 185/70-13 or the 185/80-13
Oddly enough the 70 series Khumo's seem to have a similar diameter as other brands' 185/80's...................24.5 inches
I prefer the 80's coz of the better gearing, but I'm worried they may look way too tall on such small rims

Like you Cal, I'm undecided wether to fit the 185/80 or 175/80, not sure if 185's would be too wide for 4.1/2 inch rims as it's right on the border line, but suppose with a grey you're not dealing with high performance so 185's should be ok.
Anyone else have any ideas

Yeah it is a dilemna, Blue Ute. I've sort of made my mind up to go for the 185/70-13's. EK Dreamer has them on her EK with standard rims, and they're fine, according to her.
I was going to go for the 80 series for better gearing, but don't want the tyres looking too chunky.
The 175/80's are quite hard to find

I dont think mine have tubes.
Blue ute, go for the 185/80's. They make a massive difference on the freeway, but I do find I'm holding onto gears longer around the city.

Yes you do need tubes .
new rims have a safety lip that holds the bead in place.
standard FB/EK rims don't have this,
cornering the tyre bead can break its seal and loose all pressure.

Cheers - I thought as much, hope they're easier than the tyres to find
