Love chopped cars
And have built a few
Big chops are great for getting immediate attention, but in the long run can be a pain to live with.
I personally like to do a chop that adds to the proportions of the car.
And in some cases has people questioning what is different about it?

the peach ute is the powder blue 1 colour changed still the same owner lives around lewiston the black 1was mine now in nerandera nsw and the fx was and still is chops .

I have a chopped phantom 41 pickup project built from half of a coupe-ute. It has a 2" chop and i can only just fit in it. But it is channeled 4"s.
I know any number of people with chopped cars, but for the most part the owners are around 5' to 6'2" tall. That's a pretty standard requirement for the owner of a chopped car. I'm taller. That's not to say i can't drive something radically chopped, what that comes down to it IS the seating position. The ability to really drop a seat. What most of us use are commodore seat risers. You use em under the drivers seat as per instructions and reverse them under the passenger seat. This way the handle is easily access'able. In some cases the seat mount on the floor is dropped lower sometimes a lot lower if your an ogre.
There is a lot to take into concideration with a chop top. One thing is seeing traffic lights so in a wrap around windscreened FB or EK i don't see it being that muck of a hassle but in extreme cases of chop I'm sure that factor "could" complicate the matter a fair bit.
Another thing i see is......too much chop...in a lot of cases it becomes too much of a mistake rather than a styling improvement. Sometimes a mild chop is better than the gun turret look. But then i do like DR chops chop. Lately I've been driving a buddies radical chopped coupe a lot, it has a 8" tall screen. I've done maybe close to 1000klm in it and i love it. He's shorter, I'm taller but the seats adjust to either of us. The sled really hooks along due to its corvette mill and it handles exactly like my EK Kustom.
Skinny tyres, a loose rear and a stiffer front end allow it to track perfectly even in a light rain inspired drift. You punch it and it pulls straight. And it has perfect panoramic vision all around. Honestly if i had the spare coin it would be in my shed, today. Whats coolest tho is when i stand beside it, the turret is just a smidge over waist high.
I better get cracking now....my 41 F'ord awaits.
