For Bex..this is Paige, the old girl & first one we adopted. She has the classic Frenchie look, unlike Eb's. Check you PM, sent you a message there.

STINGRAY...ohhh thanks for that tip, will do. As we live just off the Pacific Highway (lots of trucks) it's good to know. Appreciate you telling me, I would neverrrr have thought of that.

Much to learn and am all ears to anyone else that has more tips/advice for a first time EK owner.
Like waiting to get rust done, Hmmm yep maybe we should consider holding off even if I will be stuck at home because I think the drum brakes is something we'd like to change to discs. She's a very smooth ride otherwise but I'd hate to pull up in a hurry. I suppose just to feel safer the disc would be better, so hubby is saying.
Opinions welcome on that one too, like I said we are still learning and are open to all comments :)

Also meant to ask if anyone has some close up pics of your spats, would you mind putting them in here for us?
Reason I ask is ours are plain (no chrome thingies) and I saw on someone's in here, they have stars?? I think they were stars?
Just want to know, not urgent or priority or anything..only curious because they looked nice for memory.
I'm sure they were stars :?

hi lulu

those stars you speak of, are off of an fb special - front fenders
they pop up on ebay every now & then, or you may find some on a wreck etc

The stars are generally FB front fender stars, which can often be had through ebay and the likes. You could also use ek fender diamonds if you like. :)

Brilliant, thanks for that 8)
Both can be used. It's funny as I said they were stars and Hubby said diamonds...so we are both right...hehe

Great score Lulu, very nice wagon. Like the others have said enjoy it for a while prior to doing rust repairs.

Also got a soft spot for the Frenchie, I've got an Aussie Bulldog! Great natured pets, although OVERLY friendly with kids if you get what I mean
Speed and Style........... One day I'll get the speed bit.

Thanks Devilrod...yes will discuss with Hubby when he gets home from work about waiting to get rust done. After reading all the comments & thinking about it some more, I'm leaning towards that now. Will get him to read the posts, see what the boss says.
Thanks for that everyone btw :)

Aussie Bulldog..I just googled them and they are absolutely beautiful!!!

there is another plus besides what you mention to doing the rust now, it's winter so not really cruising weather  i only mentioned the rust repairs not telling you what to do but more of an enjoy the car a bit, discs would be a definate improvement especially for a novice and towing a van, the my style suspension austmod mentioned is definately not bumpy road freindly
you don't have to mention me austmod yor doing a cracker of a job re: lowering
