why they are off center, i don't know. It may have something to do with the numberplate itself. Seems he's using the original numberplate holes and the plates don't match up

Just my opinion (as i can appreciate all of you customisers) The only thing i would change on the car would be extending the rear quarter down to match the bottom of the doors.Then it would look a bit more in proportion.Other than that,the builder is bloody good at what he does.Ya cant argue with that

reidy not in a club i live in the middle of nowhere so i would not be able to attend most if not all meetings or runs
when i lived in sydney i went to a club meeting once and didn't really like what i saw, kinda like the forum lately lots of bitching and mines better than yors kinda stuff
it was when i was building the chopped sedan, when asked what i had a couple of people even had a bit of a chuckle/grumble out loud along the lines of "oh sure and gunna do" then i got out the pictures there were a couple of red faces

Bretto - Slimline plates don't line up with the holes on the front/rear bumper of an EK/FB. I reckon the bloke was much like myself, got excited when she got rego, so just whacked them on and has been driving the pants off it since.

The most awesome thing is that it's done and out on the road, cruisin'...

Me personally, I am always in awe of all the guys building mod and custom cars - mine never make it out of paint or photoshop. Bit of a shame for the Coupe ute and the 'B-Bird', but not so the EKombi

This reminds me a bit of Alfios FE he built back in 04-05. It got canned a bit and it looked a bit uneven but the amount of work that went into it was beserk to say the least, and he sold it for a good dollar. Good on this bloke for having a go at building a car. If you read this stinky could you post a photo of the FE just for a bit of a comparison?? Anyway whether people like his creation or not seems like its going to get some good exposure in the good magazines. I wish like hell that I could grab a grinder and welder and make a creation of my own but am completely useless and have to pay for my stuff so I envy these blokes that have the skill to cut up a car and put it back together different.

thanks for all the comments about my new toy, it has taken over 2 years on and off, i am a panel beater by trade. i have always had old holdens ( 3x fj's, 2x eh's and 2x ek's) as an early post mentioned its the best looking commo around, it wasn't my intention for it to look like an ek, just use ek panels to create a modern oldish look ( classic plastic??) what better panels to use than EK the best looking old holden. there is bits i would do different and a lot of comments have been spot on ( rear quarters ) too high, the front had to be that long and it does grow on you, front wheel arches are swapped left to right to slope forward away from firewall and raised 4 inches and flared.

its a real head turner and i am happy with the result for my first attempt at customising, enjoyed it a lot more than restorations. i have to thank a friend of mine peter a mobile beater/painter who spent 348 hours on it with me to finish it off.
