Thanks Mick.
No $ payment...just satisfaction of seeing more FB EKs on the road and helping out people...although I have to say that is wearing very thin at the moment.
The moderators have a job to do...I have done that job by responding to a complaint...I deleted a thread...it would seem that some people believe what I have done is the wrong thing. I don't. A line has to be drawn somewhere on what is acceptable and what is not on the FB EK Forum. Moderators cannot please everyone where that line is drawn. If there are no Moderators responding then what...free for all???
I hope no one is blaming the moderators too Mick. But I can't see any? posts saying yes you did the right thing so I have to asume otherwise.
regards
Stewart

Its a shame people are leaving over what appears to be a very very minor issue. I feel sorry for the mods having to deal with all of this! They have a thankless task keeping things on an even plane so to speak.
Obviously quite a few of you haven't played around on the HAMB, ask Deadsled what happens when you post slightly off topic on that forum his first post laneded him, right in it neck deep . But he still goes there.
I'll say it again this fourm is way better than any of the others as it remains really relevant to what we all enjoy, FB's and EK's! There is nowhere near the bullshit or politics I find on other forums.

Well done Stingray! I don't mind the picture but the commentary was going a bit out there. Once we have found the boundaries we know where we stand. But in the long run, All of us have dealt with this, Either here or on other forums, now lets move on. Stewart and the other moderators are only doing their job and I for one are thankful for the job they do.
Cheers Theo Z.............

My opinion only:
One thing when moderating a forum on the internet is deciding what perception we wish to portray to the most vocal, lowest-common-denominators of our society.
Imagine some 15 yo kid who is into FB's decides to join up and have a browse to learn more, and while looking at the mentioned pic(I didn't see it so have no idea) his church going Seventh Day Adventist mother looks over his shoulder. All of a sudden, she's on the phone to the Car Club President and making complaints left-right and centre to everyone she can, rubbishing the FB/EK community for something she sees as pornography. You'd be surprised how much damage these people can do once they have a beef against a person or community.
One thing I have learnt is that you must protect yourself from the stupid, as they have all the power.
My Suggestion: A "Mature" section with appropriate warnings, where language and anything is tolerated and "un-validated" members cannot view.

Dead right Miss Piggy,
Thing is tho, and the point missed by all here, is that HEMI did NOT post the photo in this forum. It was on another site for such material.
Whether the photo was appropriate of not, it wasnt intended by the owner to be seen by you lot anyways.
Yet HEMI and the photo have copped all the flack.
cheers,
Woodzy

Hi all, I suggest everyone take a breath & step back, before getting heated over Pics & posts. This is a great Forum and the first time I have seen it divided over what appears to be something that can be resolved with common sense.
Being a Mod on another site for the past six years, I know what a tough job it can be in situations like these. We don't want to lose ANYONE, specially, someone like Stewart who has given his time so freely for so many.
Please ... those heated over this have a break & sleep on it.
LIFE IS WAY TOO SHORT ....

My turn to fess up,
I had received three complaints - well one question and two complaints actually....................
I messaged other moderators (not all, I admit) and questioned the post - I received response from those I contacted and together we deliberated a response.
If you want to string me up for acting on what I believe is part and parcel of a moderator's duty - then I'll supply the rope.
I would like to believe I take an unbiased view from what is posted and as mentioned I did not find the pic offensive - I understood fully that some - especially with vulnerable onlookers may have (and did).
I would like to thank all moderators for the co-operation over the past few months and truly hope the site can learn from this experience.
I would like to believe that common sense with some degree of sensitivity to others opinion will prevail................
It will be a very sad day for all of us if we cannot overcome what appears the very first major hurdle we need to make.
I will have to consider my position very carefully and encourage members to advise me if I have acted beyond my duties.
I must publicly apologise to Blacky for not including him in those I conferred with - I did not wish to include him in the debate as there was some direct link to the post and I mistakenly chose to exclude him from my messages.
I further apologise to Hemi - although through pm's we exchanged, stated my position and offered support with issues arising.
I muist accept some degree of responsibility for what has eveolved - I hope members understand the role of moderator is as representative of the membership - if I am misrepresenting the membership by my actions I will, of course, resign the position immediately.................
Stewart, I very much hope you continue as NSW moderator - I have had nothing but total support and cohesion with you - the forum and membership will suffer greatly if you withdraw your labour.
I do not know who will take the reins if a number of moderators withdraw in unison.
I invite all forum members to pm or email me as I feel very awkward at present.
As stated, I will supply the rope if a lynching is warranted.
frats,
Rosco
