I got my wagon blasted - they used plastic to remove the paint and garnet to remove the surface/heavy rust. Cost me a bomb though to do it but it came out unbelievable. The blasters sprayed on a coat of keyphos or keyphost made by Henkel. Its OK if the car is left inside for a few weeks but really you should prime the car ASAP in whatever system you are going to use...acrylic or 2 pak.

love the van mate, looking forwad to seeing more progress pics. im also working on an ek van, mines got lots of rust, but that wont stop me

good to hear robbyr mine has also got lots of rust also, although i have been a keen metal man for a while and also been building a hot rod for a while it really is nothing like building a old holden miles apart, trust me i would be the first to say, after quiet a few years building a rod from scratch i would have learnt more from the old holden on the sheet metal side of things than the rod, any way, get a welder ask lots of questions and dont be deterd by the smartasses that think they no everything about the subject, they got nothing better to do with their time than to bag someone elses project or their doings , cheers old mate keep chipping away at it you will get their

as for the sand blasting a worked out it would be cheaper but messier to do it my self , so i brought a blasting unit and a tonne of garnet and will tackle it my self, for roughly the same price it would have cost to have it done, but i have it all to do other jobs with and a bit for mates jobs to for a beer or two cheers

good to see more progress, i am also doing up a hot rod, i have been working on it for quit some time, i am a panel beater/ spray painter so for me the rust is not much of a problem, just getting time to do it is a pain butt, once i work out how to post pics i will add some for you to look at, what is the rod you are doing up? mine is a 29 plymoth roadster, 17 years in the making.
