Sadly my father's FB wagon got attacked by a big gum tree which stood in the believed centre of the road - from its pink and white original colour, after replacing the entire front it became British racing green and light green tinted roof......... we had that car for around three years - I have pix of it on the sand in Qld........
He bought it after selling a 1959 Merc - got sick of people "taking" him at every opportunity.
The FB he sold for the first of his many Toyotas - a 1967 crown wagon 2300 3 speed manual with auto overdrive............ engine size very similar to the FB, didn't have the "guts" but would freely rev and rode the highway like a bird...................... I don't think I ever forgave him for selling the FB......... brought many pleasant memories, just in reflection....

Alexander Rothnie - a very tall man, Scottish with an accent I had a lot of trouble with...........
A wonderful, thoughtful and very kind man - I would love to become the person he was.........
the colour of the vehicle was chosen because of his masonic interests - the turquoise is a very close match to regalia.......

this car has almost been my life - it has been such a significant anchor throughout the many, many periods - I have documented (both in pix and logbook) just about everything in which our journey together has traveled....

I was the treasurer of the historical society at 16 - had to (was allowed to) pass it in when I went into shift work at age 19 - that is when I lost contact with most (well two of the three!) friends - I don't believe I ever "had" a social life - was a paper boy from age 12 - 6 days a week........ no footy or girls for me I'm afraid.......
Very strict parents (whom I loved dearly) and a "must" commitment to "work" at all costs...............

love the story keep it coming,by the way what colour is your car i have a ek wagon that is shalimar blue, auto wagon, nearly finnished restoring it back to original i suppose i can understand the significance of your car to you as i am nearly 30 and my wagon has been around me all my life, insurence is never enough, good to see you still have the passion.

I will have to skim over the tops as I go through this - there are thousands of pix.............. not to mention that log - 96 pages of type, so far............
Have all the old chaps documentation - and dealer material - the biggest mistake I made with this car was modifying it - we'll get to that in the early '80's.
Harko- be surprised at what I have ......... almost frightening!
Nash - colour is Tartan Turquoise 585-0246 and roof is Snowcrest White 585-0247.
Shannon's have now got my business - although to each of us - it's irreplaceable.......
Ray - I've only taken her to S.A once - 1977 - hope to make a return at Igor's invitation for next year's anniversary.........
Asked if I have had it all my life - I tell people "not yet!"........
post some more tomorrow, just have to try and keep it to "forests" not "trees" it's all interesting to me, but most will lose interest if it gets detailed........

Just a short one this time...............

I am including both sides of this form - which I find absolutely priceless...


When I picked up the car, all the documentation and bookelts, pamphlets were enclosed in the brown vinyl folder which was in the glove box.
I have now scanned all of them - a labour I have wanted to do for a long time..........
Included also is the vehicle's full service history up to 30,000 miles - there is merely 16,631 miles of which I have no record - that being from when the 30 k service was done and my acquisition.......

I find myself sitting here shaking my head, I am amazed !
