When I worked at HPC we were coating parts for a company in Dandenong on Abbotts rd called A.W. BELL, they apparently were casting drop spindles for CRS, they may be able to help Cheers PAT

hey harv . there used to be a place in penrith called street wheels .not sure if its still there but they did steel wheel offset changes ect.and from memory they were pretty cheap too.i know the road there on just cant remember the name. it runs between mulgoa road and the northern road at the northern end of penrith. maybe its called andrews road. its only a pretty small place in amongst industrial units. from memory i think theres a quix servo on the opposite corner(um i think) you might be able to look them up the phone book. sorry for the jibberish but it might help you out cheers wayne

i went through the same thing with my FC, CRS spindles with VN/P discs and a VH disc rear shortened to HR specs.
my major problem was first with the rear where the standard commodore 15x6 chasers scrubbed the inner rear guards and the front would be only less than 5mm away from the upper ball joint grease nipple.
instead of running spacers i got a wheel shop to change the offset of the rims pushing the centre in 8mm this alowed me to run 225x50's on the rear with ample clearance.
i only did the backs then changed my mind on wheels, cost was $75 per rim.
you can try using standard rims off a ute as i am lead to believe these have a different offset but havent tried that so dont hold this as gospel, or step up to later model 16 in standards, but you still might not clear tie rods. and could still come too close to the ball joint, but if you were to put a verticle nipple or small bolt in the ball joint and change over when greasing it may work

the biggest problem was trying to find decent looking rims with a backspace of 120mm in commodore stud pattern, ended up ringing showwheels and got sorted but had to move up to 17's.

by the way i still have these 2 modified commodore rims with 225 tyres with good tread if your interested and a set of 15 inch moon discs i was using
and 2 unmodified rims

but as stinky says dont go spacers!

An old thread, and one that I never did end up resolving.... until now .

It looks like the secret to getting a set of 15" Conformadore wheels onto a HR front end (without the use of extended studs/illegal spacers, Stinky's cool tierod spacers or getting rims reset) is to pick the right Commodore to steal the rims off.

Trial fit last week shows that 26mm positive offset ("26P") steel chaser rims (from a VP Berlina, VP and VR with ABS/IRS, VT Aclaim V6 and VQ Statey Series 1) work with 10mm clearance to the tierod ends. Note that most Commodores are 43mm positive offset ("43P") and will not fit.

Parts list for the next silly bugger who wants to fit Commodore rims (I reckon there might be a few... this post has had 2300 views):
HR ball joint front end (mine was modified by CRS as part number FE02),
Front mount rack and pinion kit (CRS part number RP01HRKIT),
Modified HR stubs (mine were modified by CRS as part number SA11),
Commodore to Holden disk kit (CRS part number DB010),
26P rims from a VP Berlina, VP and VR with ABS/IRS, VT Aclaim V6 and VQ Statey Series 1
VN/VP disks and rotors
HR disk brake front end "brake hose spring thingies".

If anybody uses a CRS frontend over a Rodsracks frontend they are mad.

Ive owned 2 smallblock earlys with CRS setups,both were total shit .

I could not recomend them less.

And having driven an EJ from Sydney to Brissy and back that was fitted with a Rods rack deal,there is simply no comparison.

No doubt others do a nice job too,but stay away from CRS.

This is my own personal opinion formed from personal experience.

For the record,Ive had a Chev powered EJ that still used the original steering box,too.It was tight,but it was in there.
