Re: WRAY T96 SUPERCHARGER refurb and install
Fred has done some good work on the manifolds - the carb unit just needed a clean up - lots of crust inside

What are you doing for drive-line mods Rob?

Cheers Dave
Yeah the little dust covers are mint aren't they - I little customer service item from Fred - they will find a place of pride in the cave somewhere
Haven't planned a lot re the driveline other than a Harrop LSD replacement centre - will see how the box handles it - I wont be doing any 12 second qtr's so it should be ok - trying to stay as original as possible.

Re: WRAY T96 SUPERCHARGER refurb and install
I spoke to a guy who races App J who punts around an FJ
His grey box has mods to the box using HR internals? Not sure what it involves though.
I have a rear extension that is modified with a spigot that extends to the out put shaft bearing to ensure it stays in place under load but haven't tried it in a box yet.
Can you expand on the Harrop centre conversion and whether axles are changed as well etc

Re: WRAY T96 SUPERCHARGER refurb and install
Could possibly get better axles made up - Ive kept it 10 spline so it bolts straight in - see how it goes
Box upgrade is interesting - would like to hear more if you can get any info - would be good to have a first gear that made some kind of sense

Re: WRAY T96 SUPERCHARGER refurb and install
The 'red motor' cluster gears take 20 needle rollers (cf. 19 for the grey gearboxes), and the needle rollers are longer than for the greys. The "red" cluster gear shaft is larger diameter. You'd be able to machine out a grey transmission case to take the larger diameter cluster gear shaft.

Re: WRAY T96 SUPERCHARGER refurb and install
Yes indeed, I have witnessed this with the gearbox.
You have to machine the box out to suit the larger lay shaft and presto HR strength gears.
We did this mod over 10 years ago and I'm pretty sure that's all that's required apart from assembling it.
