Looking good mate.
Post some pics and tell us some tales as you drop the fuel tank for the flush out. I'm about to do the same to mine - I haven't even lifted the wood in the tray to see what's underneath yet eeek
Removed the broken headlight
Entirely different to the Lucas version. By the trouble I had getting it out I would say who ever last installed it used the wrong screws
I could be wrong

There is fuel in the pump bowl. Smells like varnish. Blew air back down the line and there is pressure at the fuel cap. No holes in my the tank by the look.
Bit perplexed why the filler neck is sticking out from the body but I’d say it is something to do with the patch up job on the tank mounting.

I’ve given or thrown away a couple of pieces of this section recently. There is another patch on the firewall probably to access rear but on the 186 extractors. If it runs the pips get the flick in favour of stock manifold. Don’t think I can afford X2 186S headers. Any way they might overtax the gear box.

Carb is BXV-2
Missing a screw from the air horn, one brass manifold nut and the needle. Accelerator pump plunger looks good if dry. Touch of vasso on it. Found a screw and nut in my stash. Don’t suppose sprint will have needle and seat.
