All good, Ontop....
You sure look like you've picked yourself a project.... great pix.
Even a wash at this early stage will look like you've done weeks of work on it...
Love the remnants of the barnyard on the rear floor.... some animal was living in there - and now you've taken away their home.... how does that make you feel, Ontop....?
Guess they've probably found something less classic to live in now.... but it must have been fun, whilst it lasted...
Please keep us updated regularly with your thread on this... it's going to be a long and drawn out process - trust us.... we're used to watching these go for years.... but you're a seasoned restorer - and will probably travel quite quickly once you make a start..... the stripping and tagging process begins, I trust..
frats,
Rosco

Also couldnt pass up this setup....lots of $ spent and reckon that the time and effort spent in sorting this rig was something worth investing in.
Running the cam suited to triple carbs, bit lumpy on idle but nothing serious. Waiting to hear back on the torque numbers, but pulls very easily from low down. Comes out of a black FJ and ran 15.8 quarter. Not used much at all. Pulled out cos of a v6/auto conversion

Re: Hello from Me! "NEWBIE ALERT"
A couple of guys on the boat forum were eying this engine off for a boat.
Your splitty dual cab looks great.
I bought an 11 window for my wife a couple of years ago. Im not up on them but I think its a 61 model.
Its pretty clean for a splitty. I bought two of them for $750 and then the guy had a complete front panel that must have been unpicked off a van when it was new. Completely rust free and another hundred.
I put one on the back of my dodge truck and the other on a car trailer.
Coming down razorback mountain was interesting to say the least.
My wife is driving me nuts to restore it but at the moment im quite happy having it sitting in the yard.
I was going to rod It with a commodore v6 up the front on a mazda e2200 chassis.
The wheel base is the same and the track at the front is a lot narrower so its easy to lower it.
I know its sacriledge but I bought all the bits to do the conversion for under a grand compared to ten grand for vw stuff to only have it barely do freeway speeds.

Bootlegger, you have a pm
Cheers guys, will keep you posted on the progress. Currently collecting the metal for the rust repairs, is rare spares the best place to start or are there any better alternatives?
