Re: Aftermarket Inlet and Exhaust Manifolds
I reckon the SUs on that homemade grey manifold could use a bloody good service,.

Just a tiny bit of Bootleggers treasure -
Posting For Dave (Bootlegger)
This is a McGee Injection and Pump Distributer Angle Drive for a Repco Gray.
It took me ten years to get it out of the guy. It came in the mail today.

I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

Re: Aftermarket Inlet and Exhaust Manifolds
Thanks wayne and blacky.
This set up came out of a hydroplane named chinook and then fast r.
As chinook with len arnott at the wheel it broke and to this day still holds the 155ci hydroplane record at 106 mph.
The repco powered grey achieved this speed at an unbelievable 8300 rpm.
I can only imagine what that little engine sounded like with its open pipes.
The next owner bob buchanan campaigned the boat as fast r for many years winning several championships around the country.

Re: Aftermarket Inlet and Exhaust Manifolds
Looks awesome Dave. I'd be tempted to say you're lucky, but it was persistence and not luck that got you this setup.
By the way, you can get a grey to hold together (at least for a little while) at high revs using the Vauxhall L model crank. It is a bit of mucking around BUT my engine builder knows how to do it, if you're interested. A good crank is cheap but the machining involved is not. However, it is much cheaper than getting a custom crank machined out of billet steel.
