You guys are doing well.
i just did a trip from North of Perth to Dunborough 270km ish. the roads pretty much flat the whole way, i got to Bunbury non stop and the fuel gauge was looking a little sad so i topped it back up think it took 31 ltrs to 200km so average 15.5 ltr per 100. the speed varied from 92kph to 102kph. We had two away bags 2 cartons of grog and few other bits n bobs

I had a HX sedan, 202 Trmatic with 3.36:1 diff ratio. All standard including tyres.
I started with 16 miles per gallon. I then changed my driving style and got 26 miles per gallon.
I was still leaving other cars behind me without speeding or thrashing the car.
i've had many many cars with lots of variations and i've always been very doubtfull of some claims mine have always been around what you are quoting though my current EK hot grey twin carbs extractors with a 5 speed and 2.78 diff 13" tyres 185/80 or 75 (had both sizes on rear) will sit on 120kmh (GPS speedo) and gets about 9-9.5L per 100Ks you blokes are making me feel good about my petrol 100 series landcruiser sitting on 115KMH i get 17L per 100Ks and a mix of open road around town and some beach driving 18L per 100Ks
sometimes yor just better off shitting in yor hands and clapping
Reminds me of when we went to Narrandera Nats in 2010 , we were travelling with a mob of SA club members and one bloke ran out of fuel halfway there in a stock EK - he was saying he normally gets 6-700 kays out of a tank I asked him if he had a long range tank and he said no its a standard one ......
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.
