Am planning a quick flight up to Fiona & Tony's soon (I need a break from work, the Brisbane car scene is like a natural 'well being drug') so I can see this FB for myself.
You're 100% right on the dilemma Tony is facing Pete..talked to him a few nights ago and his original idea is now sounding sketchy at best!
But as for Nasco accessories..I don't think you need to worry..he wants to remove the bonnet 'bird', the lettering & overiders & the scratch plates. So it is sounding more like the Tony of old.

As for the "up in the air" stance it is due to the rear rims are too wide (7" according to Tony) to fit under & not rub the wheelarches. Think Tony will be on the hunt for chromies in the future

.
Thanks for the Photo Timbo..it's nice to see it after only being told on the phone. She looks to be a beauty.
I'll have to make a
"Westlake Motors Brisbane" dealer sticker for his back window.
Scotty.

I must be keen on this new FB Holden as I was out there this morning touching up rusty bits with a 2'' paint brush and putting my finger in the gearbox thingy, in the rain!
Then I made my way over to Sunny Tims place to beg for door trims and other shiny things. SpaceAce and Splutzy Sputzwagen are hinting that I will go the Nasco, Accelerator magazine route with luggage racks and greyhound mascots etc. This has merit, as I love to look at these cars at the various nationals we have been to, but I think I'll just lower it,
lose the overriders, shave my spare bonnet and boot (including shooting that bird!) bolt on a hot dog or something and change that clutch hose so it bangs into second like back in the 70s when we got our gearboxes from Blaxland Tip. (Was it only me who wrecked mechanical stuff?) Anyway, I seem to be making excuses for going for a drive,
so my new FB seems to be good value so far. Thanks for the encouragement guys. Tony.

After lunch friday I drove over to Wynnum to see about caravan gas stuff, then over to Birkdale, then back to Wynnum to buy a belt from lifeline (masking tape holding my pants up broke!) Bearings in gearbox seem noisy. Guru Tim says will go forever, makes funny noises at traffic lights in neutral with clutch out. Next, ring Fiona, will bring home Brodies (Brisbane takeaway Chook) fuel guage seems to have stopped moving way past the dot at the wrong end, splutter! Cough! 2 red lights on the right. I rang my mate Rob, and he came with a jerry can in one of those Finny, Mercedes Benz 190S that you see in old Bond movies. Thanks Rob! Today I fixed my interior light and reglued my boot rubber (Tim tactfully pointed out that I'd stuck it on upside down!) I also did one of my temporary, permanent black Sikaflex jobs on my ancient front screen rubber. As Rustys Dunger's father Russell would say "A good rough job!" What a great time I'm having, blowing fuses (my efforts on the interior light, left me with no brake lights until I remembered what a "Stop and Dome" was! Anyway, this seems like another epic, so I'll go back to watching some old war movie.
Tony.

Tony as long as the fuel gauge doesn't show full when it's empty

.Agree with Tim the gearboxes make lots of noises but tend to hang in there a long time
