I was on the phone to the Caravan Park at Sawtell on long weekend from Brisbane to try and jump the rush. The receptionist told me the entire caravan park was booked out for next year's Queen's Birthday Weekend. There is a Vintage Bike Show on the same weekend. I too was eyeing off the villas. She said 'try back in a week as those currently in them had first choice of re-booking for next year'. Will try the Caravan Park again but looks like I've missed that op. I'd be trying to book sooner rather than later. Some might have to go for Coffs, only 10 mile up the road. Just rang, some non-ensuite cabins left.

Hi All,
Have received an email from the marketing manager for Coff's Coast Holidays Parks (Sawtell Beach CP is one of these.)
They only have a handful of ensuite cabins left.
We (The QLD Nat's committee) made a group booking over all 18 available cabins for 2011 Queens birthday long weekend.
So please ensure you say your with the FB/EK Holden Nationals when booking to make sure you get one of the cabins we booked. they will be turning away non-nats people.
The vintage motorcycle guys have a standing booking for the Queens birthday long weekend every year.
But they are a local club, so not all their bookings will be used up. So as we progress closer to the event cabins will become available i have no doubt, Ask to be put on a wait list if your dead set on Sawtell Beach Caravan Park.
I booked mine today and had no drama's.
Is nice to think we have almost 18 confirmed attendee's already.

Dont know about you guys, but I'm excited, and with the prospect of vintage bikes in town, FB/EK Holdens, a nice location and good times with good people. We're on a winner.
We'll be sending a comprehensive accomidation listing for Sawtell and the surrounds with the entry pack mail out.
And as said in a previous post Coff's is 10 Mins away for the overflow. So were not going to be sleeping in the streets.

When I rang they asked if I was with the car club and (with the size of my family) they had 1 non en-suite cabin left, had 1 of those this year and it was a pain in the arse

I recommend that people wanting to go to the 2011 Nationals get on to accomodation at Sawtell immediately.
The Sawtell motor inn (There are not a lot of motels) said today (18/06/10) "We've only got 6 rooms left for that weekend. For some reason they are filling up!"
Cheers

If the accomodation dries up, try STAYZ accomodation guide as there are quite a few nice 'whole houses' you can rent for about the same price (or cheaper) than a motel... We booked a beauty! $405 for 3 nights

Thanks for your reply Tim, I ended up getting an unwanted cabin from Strogger (thanks

).
I would also like to thank MRS DAKAM for persisting with the caravan park and just happened to get onto the same cabin that Strogger didn't need!
Tim, I also had a house lined up, plenty of beds and a garage sounded pretty good to me to

, just would have had to travel to where all the fun (drinking) is happening

, Trev

Don't worry.
You won't be alone!
I'm sure there will be a few of us staggering along the strip together!
