Had been having an issue with the engine in the ute not wanting to rev it would idle but not increase revs, I had used the ute to jump start my daily and thought that maybe I had fragged the ECU so I got the guy that tuned Frank to make a new chip, I put it in another ECU, bugger that didn't work. Bought a new set of plugs and had another set of leads on the shelf, no good, changed the EFI plate under the coils and checked the coils, bugger no good, checked the codes on the engine management by jumping the terminal to get it to flash, bugger all good.
Finally jacked the back up and got underneath, got Robyn to turn the key on, felt the pump kick but it didn't seem to run for the 10 seconds it is supposed to, turn key off and again it didn't run for the supposed 10 seconds.
Went and got a new pump, drained the tank, fitted new pump, BINGO, runs and revs properly now, it shifted into drive and reverse so going to drinve it to see if maybe the engine was playing up and this was causing the feeling that the gearbox was fragged.

I know I'm clutching at straws

more than likely the box is still fagged

and I'm just wishful thinking

Good news on the pump. Good luck with the box.
Cheers,

Good luck Neil. Rather you than me, dicking with all that new fangled hocus pocus. It scares me.

Well I'm sad to say that the box is slipping badly

so looks like a gearbox change this weekend
