ok i figured out the scraping problem, in lowering the car the handbrake cable is now resting against the leaf spring braket and is not completely coming off. or working at all.

i figure i should move the braket but have no idea where to put it... would it be ok to just remove it from the clip so it has free movement?

hey j

with ya auto if its a hydromatic they are slow to change normaly so just enjoy the unique nature of the box,,,there not a drag raceing sorta thing,,and it mite want a new fillter if its not seen a service for a while

just a thought :wink:

yea i figured they wouldnt be as good as a new car,
took it around the block and now its getting into second a lot better then before.

im folding up a metal glovebox this week, using zinc coated steel. Its gonna fit my new head unit and the gauges have. I wanted to get rid of them but i decided to play it safe

i should be getting some new tyres and some flappers next week
and im gonna remove the grill like shown on page 8 and put some mesh in there tomorrow

to fastjbav6 for coming over and fixing my brakes :D :D

he also helped me realize that the scraping were the seatbelt bolts scraping on the tail shaft - that was my next guess of what the scraping noise was :?

......


Well really I would have pulled the hole car apart then realized that was the problem so thankyou!!!!

I think I am just blessed mine don't bolt into the tailshaft hump :)
