Primed in acrylic 2 solid coats doors have 2 base coats of bright red acrylic.

Assembled diff housing and leafs with tyres and wheels on waiting to be bolted onto the car.



After priming the roof on a ladder I decided it would be a good idea to put the car back onto the rotisserie so that I could get in and paint all of the fiddly bits.
The roof was really hard to get an even coat onto and because it such a big area I didnt want to risk a rough finish with the satin.
Yesterday i popped it back on and spun her over onto the side and gave it 2 base coats on the roof and decided to paint he guards as well.

The guards came up pretty good as well but I had leak from the top of the gun and it dripped onto the guard in 3 spots

So I will be pushing next week top get all the paint done I hope to have all of the dash and interior painted door jams etc and the rear guards base coated.
Need to rub back the bonnet a bit as well and base it and the boot lid.
will then take it down and drop the front and rear ends on.
I was then going to hang the doors and mask off the inside so that I could do another couple of base coats after I have rubbed it back with 800 wet and dry the good thing with the acrylic is that I can hide he F%$k Ups I will try and get about 6 good coats down before a final rub down and top coat.
Then I will decide if I will clear coat it or not.
I have a full set of rubbers all my glass and some dyna mat to go in as well as new carpet.
Was planning to leave the hoodlining out and have the seats recovered and door cards as well but will now wait and see how the originals look first.
Have ordered new bolts and screws for the assembly process feels like this has taken forever but now the motor is happening I can see a little bit of light at the end of the tunnel.

It might be my eye's but I wanted to point it out before you painted the car
To me it looks like the rear section from the rear boot gap to the rear roof line is outta of square?
But it might be because the doors leaning against the car..

Have you done a test with the rear and front windows including rubbers to check they fit before you paint?
Paints so bloody expensive I'd hate to see ya waste it.

Wayne thanks for your observation we have tested it and it does look out of whack, I think its just the way that it is set in the rotisserie and the angle of the shot but it does fit in like a c$%k in a sock so to speak.

Looking good, hopefully we'll see it at Coffee in the Hills sometime soon when you get it back on the road.

is it satying flat black or will it be a colour
hope there is waranty on that engine not exactly the best way to get an engine builder into gear a loose nut can be nasty

The guy doing the machining was Steve Hambridge so he comes very well recommended but they are flat out with drag racing and my little 253 was probably used as a door stop keeping the door between the office and the factory open for 18months untill they realised it was for a customer and not there to be used for a boat anchor.
Can anyone recommend a trimmer I am looking at recovering the seats as the springs are a little tired and need some lift and if I am going to do the springs may as well get the seats done as well at the same time.
I am in Picton and would like to use someone local or if not local real bloody good who will turn it around quick and who is real bloody close.
