stillute-ed , Good to see someone else down here in Tassie , and with a ute as well , she looks like she would nearly be the same colour as mine originally.

Rusty.
I always think that when customising it's good to use items from a similar age car. Different make from another vehicle but of the same generation can suite. For instance HQ lights would look terrible in your ute. But I put this pic together for you.
Years ago there was a 56 Nash/Rambler in a scrap yard nearby. It's long gone but this is what its tail lights looked like. I did a search on the net and found some pics I could cut and paste. The 56 Nash/ Rambler Ambasador units look like elongated FE/FC lights. Similar style -but longer. They look like they would fit with a bit of work. The lowest of the three little picture shows a 65 Rambler lights. Not sure what they looked like from the side. They are also nice and tall.
P: in 56 N/R seem to have two different back ends on their cars. One with these tail lights and the other had fat 'Lolli Pop' looking lights. It's a bit confusing when searching the net.

Rusty
I followed a VY? wagon yesterday; thir tail lights are thinner than HQ & fold around side (same as ute model). They are rectangular rather than rounded but might be OK. Some one on photoshop could dummy them up.
I like the original lights for me.
you have a great build going.
