Got the wiring tubes added to the outsides of the engine bay today.
This should stop the wiring dropping onto the front wheels

Image

Also got the passenger's side stripped to metal and rust treated ready for primer.

Image

Driver's side tomorrow and maybe primer

Thanks fellas

Matchew - Hold off on that thought for a while.
I went out after work tonight for a look.
The primer has had a reaction in a couple of spots.
Don't know what for yet, could be a couple of things, one being the converter.
I'll let you know when I find out

It's been a while since the car has been full length.

Looks the goods Wayne,

just a thought - if you are ever considering dragways - NOW is the time to make room for them........

Keep going - getting closer by each step.....

paint

Post by Dee »

your gunna blind people with that paint, Wayne....... theat will never look dried - good day for it today - if you could keep it out of the dust.

Subframe skirts look pretty flat - can tell just how many wrinkles and lows there were by what's left of the paint you sanded off...... each time you do this - the overall finish will be flatter and end up harder for the next coat to pull down onto - spay season is nearly hear - many of us are just itching to crank up our compressors down here in the south.

looking good = and your going to realize youve done the propper thing.

Just one other bit of my experiences - if thats quickstop putty - I don't use it anymore - found that it shrinks if put on any thicker than a finger nail.
I use the plastic for all that stuff now - there's a great one I now use - its a K & H product called "pedigree gold" - it mixes real fine and is very easy to sand - I don't think you can get it from ordinary auto paint places - I get mine from a specialist - it costs heaps too..
Yours to choose..

Thanks for the tips again Dee

No pics today  Got plenty done with not a lot to look at :!:

Put the most of the front crossmember back together with new rubbers etc. from Rare Spares.
Now it has to wait till I've painted the engine bay.

The engine bay isn't far off being painted, just one more rub back :!:
It's had three grades of paper so far, sorry fingers
Nice and straight now though 8)
