Drive pulley doesn’t fit the water pump I got at Campbelltown swap this morning. Image the pulley needs wider bolt spacing. Doh! My blue motor is getting nervous.

Welcome to the club Clay.

It was nice to put a face to your avatar and to hear your car stories.
There is a right way and a wrong way and then there is my way which is usually the long way.

Clay,

You've just been "gotcha'd" by another red motor quirk: the water pump hub.
EH-HR have a smaller bolt-hole pitch-circle diameter than HK onwards.
So you have to find a post-1968 fan to go with your chromed wide-hub water pump pulley.
Or if you have a press, swap the hubs over between water pumps.

Cheers Rog. Wearing me new hat with pride. Even took it off to work on the yoot.

Always learning Rob. Handy mate has a collection. Might see if he w@nts to swap something. ImageImage

Moved on to the clutch, replacing th3 master and bundy with hoarded bits. Will bleed it out and see if I need to swap the slave. Doing bits and pieces and trying to get it as clean as possible before she goes in the shed. Getting th3 drum# off will b3 the nex5 challenge. Nearly bought s handbrake cable at the swap today but wound up spendin* elsewhere. No idea what’s going on with the text in this post. Found very minor rust in the driver sid3 inner wheel tub, top of axle hump. From below the shock mounts back to the rear x member needs replacing. The top skin on the x member is rusted but the thicker under pressing is okay. I will fabricate the skin and patch in my panel van cut from mate Dudley.Image

Couldn’t crack the bleed on slave so of she came and “new” one going on. It s a painful job as the bolts have to screw out of the bell housing to slip it on with the rod fully wound in. Plenty of built up grease to shift along the way.

Manifold I got from Dudley was a 149. I picked up a HJ 202 Inlet with 1 7/32” stromberg, pcv and booster hose.Image
Went around to look at mates EK just back from rust repairs and came away with 186 exhaust manifold. He is dropping an exhaust around tomorrow. More swap meet bling lol.Image $5 quarter vent seal new rare sparesImage
VH electronic dizzy $35Image I don’t recall whether these require a special coil anyone?

Pretty sure they do Clay, and it will need a full 12v at run so you need to remove the resistance wire from your harness and replace it with normal wire.
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

I had almost forgotten how much I enjoy playing with the hydraulics on these cars. Put new slave on and couldn’t get a 3/8” spanned on the bleed. Off it comes and nut in the vice to remove bleed. Clean up nut but still no fit. It is 10mm!! Back together and finally bled and adjusted with considerable cursing and grovelling. Image the bottom outlet on the EH radiator was too close to the timing cover to get the hose on straight so tidied up the hole with the snips and filled up the hole with the half rotten three core from the EK sedan (God rest her). Need a fan, top thermostat housing and top hose. Image

I’m finding metric spanners are fitting better than imperials a fair bit on the FB, Clay. Maybe they’re a Whitworth size? I’ve got a set of WW spanners somewhere from my apprentice days ......
