The first photo shows the same EK (KJH610) followed by Petes FB looking low and hot in primer, and Scottys EJ probably 1979. Note my Kooky windscreen strip and fog light.
The next is Petes Banff Blue FB with Aunger Hotwires and all the good gear.
Scotty bails out after a failed record attempt.
Tony (Brian Westlake) thinks he's cool with his EK at Shelly Beach. The EH wagon belonged to my girlfriends father. I once put it into first, on the run at 20 MPH without a peep, with him in the passenger seat! He told me to get out anyway, and I was never asked to drive again. A good bloke and he had the first "Sta Put" gearlever lock I ever saw.
Bad prang one night on Church St. Parramatta.I hit a new XD Wagon right on the wheel. He was drunk, but I ran the red light. Where did all the multicoloured 6 wheeled one tonner tow trucks come from? I was still able to drive it home beleive it or not. I changed the subframe and repaired it. My girl friend dumped me because I only saw her at night.
The days were spent working on cars!
Off fo first rego. Note the cardboard sign with "Traffic" written on it. What was this?
Front yard scene at my parents house ( they were sick of me!) My EK, Zephyr, Petes FB with Pete and my old mans HQ V8.

Sorry, Marty K Bird. I forgot about your question. The colour was Twilight Turquise, after I saw a clean Hydramatic stocker with spats and blinds and other stuff driving around the top of Penrith, quite a lot. I think my girlfriend at the time, thought I was soft in the head for changing to that colour, but I thought it looked Shit Hot!
I think that other car was owned by a guy named Talbot Rapley?? and the number plate was CLC something...His old man ran a foreign car yard on the highway in Kingswood N.S.W.
I think. All this fluff is irelevant! I just wanted to say, that your experience with your Argosy Turquoise EK sounds just like mine, and many others, and thats why wer'e here I guess
Cheers Mate

I think I had just painted Rustys dads EK (black enamel with "Enamel Add") I may, of may not have got the odd run, as enamel isn't my friend. I think I also painted the front of my bonnet (In Dulon) as the cars were being used in a friends wedding. I think Scotty had one (cameo beige) and there was another pink one as well, a real peach! I look like the morning after the night before. Also, note the "Tar Babies" and whitewalls, expertly applied with acrylic house paint!
Tony Tarts em up.

..Ahh yes.. my Cameo Beige EK sedan named the B52! (as the entire exhaust system was muffler bandage & wire!, and was prone to blow a hole through it every day...hence the name!   ).
As an add-on to this story, this car was unfortunatly sunk in the Nepean River by the next (owner?) ..I use the word owner...but it was a bloke that actually stole it from me. I had it up for sale (to get started on my VG coupe) and he came over to buy it but needed to get the cash from his bank (his story!), so he left me some mags as holding deposit ( four 14x 7" Dragways with new TA's) and took the car to his place then was supposed to return to my place with the cash. Needless to say he never came back and a few days later I had a visit from the Police who wanted the towing cost paid by me for getting the EK out of the River!!!!! I told them the tale I just told you and they were very understanding as they knew this bloke VERY WELL! But I had to give them the mags he gave me back to them as they too were stolen goods... :x
I was young and very DUMB!

Scotty.

Tim. Different time frame. Photo was taken before spats. I hadn't cut and buffed it yet as I'd just painted it (was cataract grey) Anyway. Operation EJ Timing Gear was a success. Car goes. Thanks again for the gear.
