trimatic question

Post by ek61 »

has anyone ever changed a bellhousing over ?

early open bottom bellhousing to a full commy style bellhousing
this is for the trimatic to grey conversion

need to keep the selector on the right hand side of the trans
as commys on the left

cheers dave 8)

We used to outsource auto rebuilds so I never really fiddled with autos other than normal band adjustment and filter changes but I believe they are interchangable?? Not 100% sure though.
I can't think what to write here so this will do.

Yes they are interchangeable, I have tried to do it myself but ran into trouble with a big O ring that is impossible to hold in place when bolting up the new bell housing  , so off to an auto specialist and had it done for $30 :D , he even replaced the reverse plates because mine were stuffed, and still only charged $30 :D :D :D , Trev 8) .
