That is one cool looking red motor 8)

What size is the aircleaner? I think it looks like the perfect size for a red

Luke,
As you have installed the gilmer belt drive and are going to put the radiator on the outside, how are you going to propose to close the bonnet? Reason I ask is I also want to put a gilmer belt drive on a HP block but have been racking my brains on how to install the radiator and close the bonnet, I must say I got excited when I saw that you have attempted it!! I will be doing this in the next few months

Sweet as man, look awesome with the smoothed out bay, i would have gone a bigger air cleaner...got a good hieght on it though.

the gilmer should confuse a few people, better you cant wait to fire it up and step on the pedal for real!

Cheers

tayz, i'm either going with a vb commonwhore radiator as it "should" fit inside as the tanks are on the ends rather than top and bottom, but if that doesn't work or i'm not happy with how it looks i'll be getting a custom tank with a forward offset filler (like vl commodores and rx3's have) to clear the bonnet catch plate.
NoMAD, thanks, it took a fair bit of work but i'm happy with the result.
the belt will keep a few people thinking, i was going to run a 9" x 5" K&N but funds don't allow at the moment so i'll go with this for now.

you bet i can't wait to fire it up  i hope the neighbours aren't asleep when i do cause they won't be for long, just waiting on my extractors and hooker aero chamber muffler  and she'll be fired :D

i was thinking about it, but i'd rather not blister all my new paint in the engine bay, i'll probably just sart it with just the extractors  8)

the pics still show a coppery tinge to them (well they do on my pc) but there isn't actually any when looking at the colour, that was one of the main things i really didn't want in my colour (copper/ orange)
cheers, luke.

thanks,
my70wg, its not actually a candy but i chose this colour because it looked like one but a lot easier to apply.
go_rat, if you look on the bottom of page 8 it shows them temperarily mounted in place.
i think the burgundy gauge cups on the shiny black dash will look 8) , just hope it turns out that way
cheers, luke.
