thanks guys will have a look at it tomorrow sammy has sent me a few things as well .. although i just checked and i had the brown wire from ecu to neg coil and still had no joy with the set up seem the injectors are power all the time and not pulsing .

now should there be a wire to +ve on coil ? and not the wire to the tachometer relay ? ..

ooh and i need a back pressure valve for the injector return lines if any one has a spare .. or can recommend a suitable substute as vk efi black stuff is getting hard 2 find ..

ok have checked all the wires and they seem to be correct now ..
i notice fuel pressure is a bit low 20 psi think its ment to be 37 ?

also still cant get the injectors to pulse using a globe .. seems both wires in have +ve feed ?

now i wondering if the ecu is dead or there is something else i should try ..

like a 186 lol

55 worked for me, you shouldn't have +ve on both sides. You have a blue wire and a yellow wire from memory, it sounds like you have a cross over somewhere. Trace them back to the ECU, I hope you haven't killed the ECU as they are getting like rocking horse poop to find.
Just got mine back from the shop and it is running like a dream at the moment. Gave it a boot full and the wheels spun, that has never happened to me in this car. Must have been a oil patch on the road

ecu pulses earth to injectors injectors always have power and you are getting power on both wires because injectors are a coil and feeding through loom this is normal do not use a globe of high wattage to test for pulsing you need a special test light where did you feed power to ecu from not sure about vk but vl ecu will not start if ecu is getting less than 12volt when cranking if you fed ecu from ignition it is ballasted to lower voltage

Thanks Sloth,

ECU is currently feed directly from battery supply, i did use a fairly high wattage globe to test so will try something smaller or maybe even a multi meter to see if that shows any readings that may give me a clue.

Yeah Dave the injector feeds are White and blue, im guessing the pulses are sent to the ecu via the -ve feed from coil. it could be something simple like a miss matched coil ?? as the one i am using was from the 186 .

well its light here time for another day of fun and games under the bonnet .. thank all

YES YES YES ....

ok incase u didnt guess finally got it sorted ..
for those interested .. the brown wire to the ni 1 pin on ecu was missing
i know sammy u did mention it but it wasnt until i sat out in my car port in rain armed with multi meter and diagram that i found it ..

now comes the task of putting it all in neatly cos atm there is wires hanging every where as a temp set up.

looks like a long day for me as i was hoping to have it ready for car club run on sunday ..

A big thanks to everyone who added there ideas and thoughts ..
