Hi guys well we done the battery section today and with a bit of grinding and a smear of filler and powder coated black i am sure it will look great.A bit of a shame i couldnt get an original fill piece but the battery will hide most of the repair. This was the part of the resto that concerned me the most.
It may look a bit of a mess but i am sure this section will come up great once the new battery tray and surround go in.
cheers
Tony

niec job there Tony, if your putting the battery back there, no one will probably notice.... i've been using an original section to repair mine...not being the best wlder/fabricator it's been taking some time and how this the original material is so thin, just keep burning holes, re welding and grinding - i think theres more welds in there than original metal!...
looks good mate will come up a treat! you could probably continue and smooth the whole bay
Thanks guys hey Mat glad that sandblasting worked out they do a good job at a good price.I know what you mean Nomad thats why alot of braizing was done and that the god lord my old mate next door is a gem at doing it.

Hey t950cat, subframe looks magnificent, just rememeber though, try not to spill petrol on it as petrol can react with powder coat and turn it dull. But it doe's look great, Cheers Pat

Hi all just an update on the project as i have finished the undercarriage and the inside and body. The floor has been done with brushable bituman and has the undercarriage and then a coating of kill rust gloss back.Have started on the panels and just have the two front guards to deal with. The colour of the car will be snowcrest white which looks great with the chrome work.
Cheers
