If you want the extra power go the Red.
That was always my initial intention.
However if your Grey is running fine, you might find a changed motor brings problems.
Plus all the mods and changes. Engine, disc brakes, rear brakes, backing plates or later model diff, brake booster, bigger radiator, exhaust change, engineers plate, gearbox alignment, eh sump, etc, etc.
I now consider a good motor as the best motor.

Re: new ek owner
If it's a Gardner conversion the front end alone is $5000, then you have to get the rest , Trev .DA FLETCH wrote:i have been told about a conversion so now i am now thinking about do a v6 conversion .....does anyone no how much i would be looking at. and what is involved in doing this work ....thanks for your advice

Re: keep 138 or upgrade
If the upgrade is decided what would be best, a 186 or 202?
Re:

also depending on where you are and the engineer yor dealing with there's extra work involved in putting the 202 in
sometimes yor just better off shitting in yor hands and clapping

A couple of questions...
Does a pair of headers and twin carbs add anything worthwhile to a 138.....
What would you need to do to get her to cruise at 110kmh on the highway with a full load

Seriously though a carbs and headers will help but so will a diff ratio change.
Re: keep 138 or upgrade
Thanks DevilRod....what ratio would you recommend....
What do you run in yours, you run it as a daily driver?
I am wondering do I buy a fully original EK or wait for a modified one with HR front end and 186???
I am not a traditionalist...I want the cool EK look with a nice reliable and drivable cruiser.........but if the 138 will give me this with a few mods....thats OK to
