So a smaller pulley means i have enough room for the fan to fit without hitting the radiator. Would it hurt the water pump if i paint it black. I as i want to engine to have a red/black theme.

no you shouldn't have to best is to go down to repco or super crap and get a gasket glue... make sure you apply it to clean surfaces (engine mainly... make sure theres no crap there) simply put
engine.....gasket goo.....gasket....gasket goo.....water pump
shouldn't have an issue unless you forget to put the gasket in between!
Cheers

I also need a thermostat housing, as when i pulled it iff it was bubbly rust. Supershit auto or repco would sell these along with the gaskets ?

Well today i picked up the termostat housing, When i took it out it has a extra hole on the side with thread. Where the orginal one from the red had no hole. is there anyway i can plug this hole and stop it from leaking?
Also it is a hell of alot lighter then the old cast iron one.
Here is a pic of the hole im talking about
