Modified EK wagon
Sorry, only fist came upon this thread todat. Nice looking wagon, mate, can only hope that mine will end up looking as good. You said at the beginning that you were going to use retractable seatbelts all round. How are you going to mount your rear one's? I have seen the "bar across the back seat method", but am not a fan. Was thinking about mounting the retract unit onto the rear of the wheel arches, and use a "short belt runner" (similar to a subaru wagon) to position the belt above the passengers shoulders.

Good one Gary, you saved me posting that info up..V8EK4us wrote:NOPE.... HQ and commodore stud patterns are different by about 1.5mm on the PCD, studs are the same size just one is metric and the other is imperial.ekturbo wrote:Ahhh the commodore offset must be different to the hq one, stud patterns the same but stud diameter is different.. Typical i went the wrong way Not about to change as I just bought 2 more of them for my street slicks. Price went up 200% since I bought the 1st four.I went for the crs 2" drop spindles and could go lower if the offset was in more.
48-215 (fx) - FJ: 5 on 162 mm (6.375")
FE - HR: PCD 5 on 107.95 mm (4.25"), Offset 6mm positive.
HK - HG: PCD 5 on 107.95 mm (4.25"), Offset 30 mm Positive (except HK and HT GTS which had an Offset of 13 mm Positive, HG GTS went to 30 mm Positive)
HQ - WB PCD: 5 on 120.65mm (4.75"), Offset 30 mm Towards the inside of the rim for standard offset wheels.
Torana LJ/LC, LX/LH: PCD 5 on 107.95mm (4.25"). Same stud pattern as HK-HG.
Torana LH with option L34 and LX with option A9X: PCD 5 on 120.65mm (4.75") with -1/4" Offset. Same stud pattern as HQ-WB with a different offset.
Commodores use a 5 on 120 mm (4.724") PCD. Very close to the HQ - WB PCD but not close enough. If you put Commodore wheels on an old Holden (or vice versa), you will break your studs and be overtaken by your own wheel...not a good look.
When measuring the stud centres you could also measure to the outside of both studs and subtract one stud diameter. (Thanks to Holdenpaedia)

Cheers guys! Yeah, after I bought it in a very delapitatated state, I drove it home about 50kms and that scared me enough to never drive it again untill I had done the brakes, steering and suspension at least, so a quick tidy fix up turned into a much longer job as always as we all know!
To wagonman... I've got retractables mounted in the front pillar, like malcom did in his yellow sedan, and for the rears, a bar accross behind the back seat with the child seat anchors in it too, but it is quickly and easily removable so when you want to drop the back seat down to a flat tray you stash the bar up on top of the folded down section pretty much out of the way, I tried to sort out putting them on the wheel tub exactly like you said but it just didn't work with the angles etc for the retract units to work, plus the child seat anchor points would have meant that there'd be straps thru the wagon part when they were in leaving a tricky space to try fit the strollers in etc so defeats the purpose of a family wagon!

hey mate love the wagon
speakin of offsets and stuff, i reckon these rims are kind of ahh.. silly
mums got em on her wagon and there 8s with a 4 inch offset. but even with the offset they have no dish its like theyve gone outa their way to make these wheels look pretty, not cool/tough.
i see em around a fair bit on older cars so people must like em, but to be honest theyve never done anything for me, mind you, they are easy to clean
thats just me tho, apparently im strange....
