Yes - you can get anotherr boot mat - for 300 clams.....
Anyway -don't want to get too heavy, it's your car
Guess I'm one of those restorers

Plenty out there that you could mod up!!!
I say mod it up
It may be rare, BUT.... it an EK which are the poverty pack of an FB anyway and its a standard which is not only poverty, it boring!!!
Best thing about a standard's is there is less side strip holes to fill.
it all depends on what you want if you want a modified one modify it if you want a stocker restore it
i doubt you'll be able to just go buy another good body to modify, honestly the world won't come to an end if you cut it up, everybody that said i shouldn't cut up my wagon had the chance to buy it and save it before i modified it
wasn't just talking about you, also i don't think my wagon is the one you thought it was, it's had repairs and atleast a bottom half respray it's hard to reverse cutting out the floor
they're not that easy to find GOOD ones, it sounds silly but if i wanted to do say a chop top and i had the choice of an average tampered with car or a real good stocker for the same money, unless i could sell the stocker for good money straight away i wouldn't hesitate in taking to it with a grinder because that's what i want
basically what i'm saying is it's no good restoring a car if you want a modified, and you'de only sell it if you could get good money and replace it with something simular
Funnily enough I have my own mind and don't need someone else to tell me what to say, no wear did i say I’m an expert, it was just an opinion, my opinion.
If you look at the topic's heading it says,
*To Mod or not to Mod that is the Question*
well I read that and think hmmm... someone is asking other peoples opinion on to mod or not to mod.
So someone, being me gives him an opinion and get shot down in flames.

Yeah i'm still undecided on what i'm going to be doing with my baby but hopefully i will know which way i will be heading sooner or later
Contact ACT rego authorities FIRST,then an engineer approved by them SECOND.Do what they ask for regarding mods required for a red motor conversion.
They will most likely say you will need:-
HR Holden disc brake front end and HR rear brakes as well ( or better )
Heater demister for windscreen.
Windscreen washers.
Seat belts for all seating positions.
2 speed electric wipers with a fast speed of at least 45 cycles ( wipes ) per minute and a slow speed of at least 20 cpm or single speed wipers with more than 45 cycles per minute.
Indicators ( if it hasn't got any )
Drivers side external mirror
Professionally welded and designed engine mounts (ie:- no birdhshit welds )
If going to a 202 ( or higher ) they may also ask for a collapsible steering column as well and better brakes such as a power boosted dual circuit system like HQ's etc.
This is what I can think of at the moment, I may have missed some other things.
They may ask for all the above and additional or some of the above and additional.
Also look under heading "General Sharing Advice and Experience" section and up the top of that section page there is a sticky thingo titled "Very Handy Site".
Click on that and it will go to the DOTARS site and the National Code of Practice for Light Vehicle Construction and Modification.
Most state rego mobs use this as a basis for their respective criteria for modifications and then tweak them to suit.
Pretty sure they will but the gearshift position indicator will be wrong as Hydromatic shift sequence is different to traumatic shift sequence.I think Trev is, or was going to a trimatic, maybe he or someone else running trimatic with original column can shed a bit more light to your question maybe.
