The paint code doesn't make a lot of sense, hope it's been misread, I'll know later this week I guess!! The engine appears to be EJ vintage.

Well, the "225" = Special the "M" = Melbourne
Trim "815" = Mephisto & Chianti Red
Paint 253 = Duco (Pre Acrylic Magic Mirror) so makes it a early 1960 modal. The "6285" is a mystery to me at this stage.

You guessed right Peter,the "J" prefix is an EJ motor.

OK one mystery solved, as it's an early FB, it's an FC colour called High Gloss Black, thanks to RET and Rob on the FE FC discussion forum!
