Fried Wiring

Post by PEARO »

Just a quick note,
I was driving to town on Wednesday night and lost all electrical power to my EK smoke then billowed from under dash and bonnet. Turns out the flasher unit which has an aluminium housing came in contact with a swich under the dash and short circuited the electrical system causing all wiring in the engine bay on one side to melt NOT HAPPY. Anyhow all is now repaired and Im back on the road.

Know how you feel Rob.

Accidently left the ignition in ON position in my FC wagon years ago and because the ignition points were in the closed position , it eventually heated up the wiring and melted everything together. And stuffed the coil as well.

Took me about 3 days to rewire
I can't think what to write here so this will do.
