wiring diagram for thermo fan

Post by lindsay58 »

HI I am looking for a simple wiring diagram for a thermo fan, using no controler, just a simple on/off switch.

Mate,
The easiest way is to take a power supply from your battery or starter motor terminal (if you want to hide it) with a fuse (20 amp) to the switch.
Then from the switch to your fan active. The fan ground is just that grounded somewhere close to it on the body somewhere. Make sure this has a good connection.
Use wire that is the same thickness as the fan so it dosen't get hot and burn your car to the ground

Hope this makes sense and helps.

As Greg said you can just use a swich instead of the relay just make sure it is rated higher than the current draw ow the fan or you will burn it out
it is very simple to replace the swich with a thermo switch and would save the problem of forgetting yo turn it on and I forgot to put it in the diagram but make sure you use power to supply the swich that goes off with the ignition or you will flatten your battery by using the relay and powering it through a fuse directly from the battery you wont overload the existing wiring
