Hi. I've got a celica 5 speed I want to put into my ek ute. Has anyone here done this before? I'm pretty sure I've gotta cut the tunnel and make it bigger, yes?
Also, the torana I'm taking the 5-speed out of has a cable clutch. How would I go fitting up the ek hydraulic clutch to the 5-speed?
Any advice would be much appreciated.

im not sure if the bell housing is different from hydraulic to cable, but if you need a hydraulic bell housing i have one....
i did this conversion some yrs ago into my EK and the tunnel was fine other than a small bash up with the hammer in one spot, however i think this was an auto tunnel .... i can't remember.
the tailshaft should be the right length too if its from an LH/LX torana

guys just on the same topic say i wanted to do the
5 speed conversion myself i have the box and the
crossmember, tailshaft how do i go about it is it
something i can do myself not having any mechanical
background, from what i understand u have to
strenghten the the existing crossmember where the
new one bolts on is this correct. and once this is
done how do u know if your crossmember is positioned
correctly so the tailshaft is straight and not out of wack.
im asking this cause i was getting ratbox's mate to
do the conversion for me but i have run out of money
when i built my new house i know about the tunnel
side of things and it will be getting engineered later down the track .thanks troy
