Bloody ute didn’t stay clean for long …..

Today was a lazy day, had breakfast at Back Beach cafe where we kicked the 2024 after party off - bloody surfers are mad , it was only about 10 degrees Image
Image

Wandered around rainy old Bunbury for a while and then went out to the Bush Shack Brewery for lunch

Then did a little bit of maintenance on the ute, topped up the gearbox oil with a fancy new trolley jack me mate had in his workshop
Image

Once that was out of the way we had a bit of electrical work to do - used a work safe approved EWP, elevated work pallet, and safety thongs ImageImage

Image

No need to worry I checked and made sure the pallet had a current tag on it ImageImage

This morning we said goodbye to our friends and headed over for a quick catch up with a club member who has nearly finished their EK sedan, it has a fruity 202 with a Haltech controlled EFI setup Image

Then we headed home in what was the worst weather of the entire trip - Perth winters are absolutely miserable ImageImage
Pissing rain and blowing a gale - went through some roadworks and one of those trailer mounted LED billboards had blown over it was that bad - crosswind too so it was a fight keeping the ute on the road

Made it in one piece Image

Unloaded and back in bed with her sisters

Sitting on the lounge chilling out - did some number crunching.

total km - 7,123
litres of fuel used - 787.53 litres
mileage - 11.06 litres per 100km
old school measurement - 25.54 miles per gallon
oil consumed - 0.0 litres, bit better than last years effort of around 1 litre per 100km
water consumed - 0.0 litres
gearbox oil consumed, 1 litre.

After the day the gearbox kept jumping out of gear I refilled it in Gazzas shed in Mildura and bought an occy strap to hold it in gear - we drove from Mildura to Whyalla like that , a distance of a bit over 600km. The next day we tried it without the occy strap and it has not jumped out of gear since that day , roughly 3000km and it hasn't missed a beat

That’s a decent cruise….. and good mileage to boot. Can you remind us what diff centre you had on this trip?

Pleased you solved the gearbox with the magic oil
