One of the requirements specifically listed is compliant glass. I found water marks for all but the back window. Can anyone tell me where it should be on a sedan please? I expect bottom centre but can’t find any thing, anywhere.

Seriously ??? You cant buy non genuine rear glass so how the hell could it have a non compliant one in there ????
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

I know. I speculate rear screens do not have a mark. I’m hoping I can get confirmation on here, but I will canvass Sunny Tim also.

I would suggest filling the paper work in as original supplied by manufacturer.

The front screen may need to be laminated, not sure of your rules there. I spent a lot of time polishing a rear screen and cannot recall a watermark.

Ill have a quick look at one today to confirm.

Thanks Greg. The glass doesn’t have to be laminated and all has the correct marking bar rear window. If I can get some confirmation I will be able to argue the point as necessary.

Sides are original factory. Front is “new”. I don’t get to fill in any paper work but yes, I will press the point if necessary, that it is original glass.

Sunny Tim reckons it should be top centre on the rear screens.

I got Steve at Lonsdale Paints to scan the mauve colour. Image
VL Commodore colour Wild Mulberry. Now when people ask I can tell them the colour instead of saying mauve or pink burgundy maroon metallic.

Now Tim has identified the location I can all but see it. I have highlighted all the marks with confidence and will bluff it out with the clipboard jockeys.

Today I replaced the grease boots on the passenger upper inner pivot. One was torn and the other missing. I was tempted to dial in a bit more caster but that would mean I would have to do the other side also so I put it back as it came apart. Not too hard to do on the car. I haven’t found much play in the suspension. It all seems good.

Measured track front 1410mm, rear 1395mm. Maximum specified is 1421mm front/rear. With the dragways it would have been 1430mm.

Roll on January 8th.

So far so good on the fast idle and choke butterfly install, without the carb requiring removal. Obviously there are more important things I should be focussing on such as camouflaging minor cracks in the marbled steering wheel and replacing a broken hand brake handle.

The butterfly actuating rod has to pass through a hole in the filter mounting plate, which currently is blanked off.Image

I was set to drill it out but looks like it could be removed by partly disassembling, which appears to require removal from the manifold. Can anyone advise?

It’s an oval shaped hole, and agree with blacky that yours look likes an araldighted disk. Mebbe try tapping gently (SFH) from above with a drift.

Thanks fellas. I thought to try a drift. Camera doesn’t like to focus so close but it does show the shape.
