Had a go at cutting down a windscreen today - started by making a template of the timber screen to transpose the shape onto glass
Then used it to mark up the victim …..
I bought a sanding disc that is specifically designed to sand glass, it fits in a 5” grinder , used it in a cordless machine and ran water over the glass.
It works a treat , only took a couple of minutes to remove this much glass

i think keeping it cool and slow and steady is the trick
i know an arsey bloke that cut an old second hand chev screen with a 1mm cutting disc (nowhere near the curve of an FB/EK screen) but still just picked up the angle grinder and just cut it like he was cutting a piece of metal
sometimes yor just better off shitting in yor hands and clapping

A mate of mine did exactly the same thing on an XP ute front screen - I was actually going to try that on this screen but seeing how well this disc gets through it I am going to use the sanding disc rather than take the risk with the cutting disc. it leaves the edges a bit ragged but I reckon a bit of 240 grit at the end ought to smooth it off.

Sort of - I took the screens over last week and we laid the front one in - it’s close but not spot on , and now I have buggered my hip up and I am out of action for at least a week
The cartilage is buggered - I have to meet with a hip surgeon next Friday to see where I go from here
Found this on instagram Trev, thought you might be interested- I see you liked it a couple of years back??
