Today I fitted the modified brake pedal and hooked it up to the brake cylinder.
Big hand in small tight places. :lol:
Finished off the rear window but tucking up to headliner and screwing on the metal strips.
.
Could not put it off any longer, I dragged out the wire loom I purchased from Blue Wire.
I’m doing away with the ignition key and going to a push button start with hidden transponder.
Having fun matching the wires using the 2 diagrams supplied with each kit and VL workshop manual.

Wiring is fun if you understand it.

My only suggestion is to keep your fuel pump and ignition wires as seperate looms, it makes it easier if you ever decide to upgrade those items.

I need your help.
I have this alternator to use but not sure if I need to add a regulator or not into the wiring loom or if this has one already.

100% that alternator requires an external regulator. Usually the aluminium can type.

That's not much of an alternator Roger, how much electrical wizardry will this ute have in it ? Might be better off heading down to pick a part and finding an 80a or so one ????
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

Yes- they are best regulators. But Blacky and Rob are on the money. 50amps wringing wet is not much to go on.

Thanks for the replies as my electrical knowledge is limited.
Current using 3 workshop manuals VH and VL Commodore and a HQ one.
I will look for a larger alternator 80amp and yes Clay I may grab one from you.

There has been progress on the wiring of the ute although sometimes it is hard to see.

To ease my poor back I decided to work on the gauge cluster.

Spent a lot of time, very carefully on the odometer to show the actual miles the ute has done since the rebuild stated.
