They cleaned up very nicely. Interested to know what needles you end up running with. Mine always ran a bit rich. And they were always pumping out dash pot oil. But that has been the same with any SU car I've driven. Kept a bottle of sowing machine oil in the boot.

The only difference being you are running a red motor Clay. They might be alright on a red.

I’ve always chased tractability over reliability over performance over aesthetics. The tripl3 jugs tick all boxes. SU seem to be best value x performance.

I’m wondering where to find terminal lugs to fit the cable. It’s around 15mm diameter. Might have to hit up some HV sparkies at work .

Mr Clay,

You need the diameter of the copper core with no insulation.

The formular to find the cross sectional area is 0.25 x 3.14 x Diameter (squared).

The CSA then becomes the lug size, or close to it.

Just looking at your cable from the photo its probably 50mm or possibly 70mm.

Cross sectional area Greg? PiR2=154mm2. Primary school geometry mate. Can’t find any lugs that big.

Clay,

Probably a obvious question, no markings on the cable at all ?

Cut a peice off and take it to an electrical wholesaler, they will have lugs up to 300mm on the shelf normally.

Why are you using such big wire ?

It’s is what I have that a mate recommended years ago when I did the sedan. Not an obvious question mate. I will look. Just couldn’t find anything on line.

You need to measure the core with verniers, is it fine flexible wire, similar to welding leads ?

The CSA is of the copper only , looks like 35 or 50 mm to me Clay - it should be stamped on the lug that’s on the cable but it looks to be too big for that cable anyway?
