That is awesome Brian. I didn't get enough time to look a your and Greg's cars properly. If I can work out how to run worm and sector with V8 I'm tempted after seeing all the nice 8s at Echuca. Need more platforms.

Thanks Clay, awesome would've been 28, that's 10km/l, thought that would be achievable, maybe too much right foot when overtaking.

Welcome to the dark side. We promise to convert the "tempted" into a full blown V8 panelvan project (you may need to stop us before it ends up with murals, a firebird front clip and a velvet interior :D).

Alien Retro does a steering box collapsible column unit. I bought one for the FB, but have yet to fit it (got distracted by the FED). They are not cheap, but I reckon within your skillset.

Cheers,

Saw a bloke fit a V8 into an EH with a stock steering setup, motor sat way high and he ended up rolling it - you reckon moving your battery affects handling, try raising the centre of gravity of the entire car 100mm
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

Anyway I'm too preoccupied mucking around with getting the triple SUs on Larry. Pulled the new ones off the Lynx 202 manifold and opened them up. They are in very good condition and I'll clean up with new gaskets. Probably can mix and match fastners from the other set which are missong choke and throttle bits. The RH needles are way rich I'm told.ImageImageImageImageImage

The vibration hasn’t really gone away. It was more on button off from memory, now it is more button on which is kind of worse. Goes away on coast. Might take 2 degrees out.

Trip post mortem. ImageA bit of water through the windscreen seal passenger side. Bugger all.

Dip stick was down bit. Oil change due.

Wonder if anyone can tell me what thread these might be.ImageWe tried 3/8 BSP which was almost but bit tight. I want longervones so I can run 3mm plates to bolt pedestals to.

Clay are those carbies going to fit without cutting into the firewall. Mine clash.

What manifold are you using Sam? The one I have will let me fit with very minor, if any massaging. Battery has to go of course so that really needs to be the focus first.

I found a Warnerford Manifold with Triples for the 138 in my FB. But they won’t fit. Clashes with the firewall.

It looks similar to mine. Time will tell.
