Looks a bit like the FE / FC, either way it looks cool. Once the folk at A Class have done their bit it will look fantastic!

Correct - Nash used these on various models from 55 to 59.
There is a right way and a wrong way and then there is my way which is usually the long way.

I got stuck into the fuel tank today and OMG.
Firstly the tank purchased on Market Place with the seller telling me "mate, good tank no holes". I call BS as I hade the tank grit blasted and found a number of holes.

Next the tank is wider than the opening in the ute and wider than the rails.
The nuts on the spring hanging are on the inside, for neat look, which now need to be reversed.

Cut, cut and more cutting, grind cut and grind again then finished with a little shaping with the BFH and it is nearly in.
AS you can see the edge of the tank overlaps the rails.

I will be building a frame to sit it on with nut serts
In retrospect, it would have been easier to cut the original tank in half, add a section and weld it up.
Possibly used a sedan sender.

Another option could be early model F*#@D tank as they may be a little narrower.
Currently on my 3rd beer.

That is a bit of a pain in the butt Roger. What is the plan to seal the tank? Maybe a two part tank lining epoxy compound?

Steve, I will weld the holes in the tank via bronze weld so I can control the heat.
It's a normal thing with modifying a car, one change leads to a couple of other changes that lead to more changes.
In this case a more measuring of the tank but I will over come the issues and finish it off.

Mate a brand new Mustprang tank is only a few hundred bucks and they fit nice , just don’t have the spare wheel well
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

Hey Roger that's a shame mate but I'm wondering if you want to sell the bit you cut out mate I could use it for my wagon
