I have a lynx adapter plate , so dont know what it was originally from , but my mate said it worked fine on a 202
Does any of that make sense for u
Ron
But most of my problems is the cam and lifters , I think , just set the lash on hydraulic lifters at 10 thou , like solids now it runs and drives but seems lazy

Thanks for that ,

They generally run ok on mild 186. Similar jetting to 186S. I’m not familiar with the 2600S jetting, though I bought a 161 with similar 253 carb but HX from memory, so people do run them on 161. Harv may have the 2600S jet sizes.

Looks like he's solved his problem now (misadjusted lifters), but for the curious:
His WW (23-3064) was from the HQ 253ci engines with manual transmission.
The only 161ci WW (23-3041) was fitted to the LC GTRs.
His carb has smaller idle tubes (#69 drill vs. #66 drill on the LC). The fuel fed to the idle needle valve will be a poofteenth richer than the 161 needs. The idle needle valve will need backing off slightly.
His carb has different power bypass valves (0.032/0.057" vs. 0.020/0.064" on the LC). These are two stage power bypass valves. At approximately 3-7” Hg (1½-3½psi) manifold vacuum the primary is open and his carb will run richer than the 161 needs (0.032" hole versus 0.020" hole). At 10-12”Hg (5-6psi) the secondary is open and his carb will run leaner than the 161 needs (0.057" hole versus 0.064" hole). Whether this will make a difference depends very much on how he drives the car and what cam duration is installed.
His carb has a smaller pump discharge jet (#71 drill versus #68 drill on the LC). The pump duration spring is the same on these carbs, so his carb will have a slower squirt of fuel when he mooshes the throttle compared to what the 161 needs. Will probably be fine unless he gets initial hesitation when on the loud pedal.
Main metering jets are the same (0.050").
Cheers,
Harv
