Gave it a go yesterday-
Not bad if you are looking to keep the “patina” look , I am in 2 minds though, it’s probably going to be less effort in buzzing it and painting the roof than doing the entire roof with it …..
Rest of the car has been painted anyway

Re: Ballistic
I agree Blacky,
Although there is stain it just means there is rust, surface only but it will still be etching away no matter how many times you clean it.
I would re paint the roof, you could clear coat it to seal in the patina but like you said, the bottoms already done. !!

Re: Ballistic
another craze like the copper weld thru primer...
and the 400 is doing most of the work there...
i use a proper VpCI like bullfrog 94237 or acf-50 with melamine pads which are about 3000

Re: Ballistic
Good result Blacky. You’ll want to do it properly if you’re going to the trouble of painting it, with those rust spots. Don’t underrate the amount of work required. It’s a big panel to flow nicely. I suppose you could run platforms down either side. Would be a bit hard to tip it over fully assembled.

Nice work, now ya gotta do the lot
I found it takes a bit of effort to return a shine using scouring pads
Tried used U-Pol 333 cutting compound with water and slow foam buff on the ute, quick and effective

Hey Blacky watch that purple scotchbrite pads mate.
Yes I did my roof with them and feck me is it scratched now.
I should have used the grey or even the white 1200 pads.
It’s does look like it’s doing the job though!!!
